Entertainment One (eOne) is expanding the presence of its Canadian and North American eOne Family division with the help of Laura Clunie, who is relocating from London to the company’s Toronto headquarters.

With a development slate that includes many shows already signed to major Canadian broadcasters, Canada is seen as a key market for eOne Family’s production and co-production business. And as North American momentum for the Peppa Pig brand continues to grow, the company says there is a stronger need to have a dedicated person working in the region.

Starting in March, Clunie will step into the role of VP of Creative Affairs and will oversee the acquisition and development (both digital and linear) of eOne Family content. Leading all the creative affairs for the division, Clunie will continue to manage Lorna Burkle (production and development executive) and Lorna Withrington (acquisitions executive) in the London office, in addition to managing Swing Chang (director of development) from her new base in Toronto.

Clunie joined eOne Family in 2008 and worked on the production of Peppa Pig as well as Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. Previously, she was at Chorion for five years where she held production and development responsibilities for UK children’s properties including The Famous Five, Noddy, Olivia and Mr. Men.
